Increases omega-3 : 6 ratio for a better nutritional balance

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids must be balanced within the body for both to be effective. The optimal ratio is thought to be 2 to 4:1. These essential fatty acids cannot be made by the horse and have to be supplied by their diet

Superior Source of Omega-3 Compared to Plant Sources

Plant-derived omega-3’s are converted in the body from their basic form to more complex and highly effective forms. Marine-derived omega-3 sources supply these more complex forms directly into the body without requiring inefficient conversion processes

Equine athletes supplemented with EO-3™ have been shown to have a reduced inflammatory response post-exercise. If vegetable oils are added to a diet, they can skew the omega-3: omega-6 ratio with omega-6 fatty acids often being overrepresented. Adding the correct type of oil means a reduction in the overall levels of omega-6 to get the correct ratio and balance of the total diet right

EO-3® Feeding Rate

Top-dress EO-3™ onto the concentrate feed. For best results, gradually introduce EO-3™ into the diet over 5-7 days and divide equally between the daily feeds.
